Kick Wedding Stress to the Curb in Five Easy Steps

Wedding stress is normal and “Yes”, it can be pretty difficult to overcome. Now that your big day is hastily approaching, for sure, there are a lot of things that come into your mind. Did you find a wedding photographer that suits your style? How about your bridal gown, the flowers, the venue? Okay. Calm down. It may be difficult to relinquish control, but the best thing to do now is breath and take some time to work on the significant stuff- one by one. You really do not have to micro-manage every single aspect of your wedding. You just have to trust others who genuinely care and allow them to take part.

Stress Buster Tip. 1: Set your priorities.

Decide on the things that are most important. Set things straight, like the pay deposits. You should also have a list of your secondary priorities and your not-important-priorities. Identify the things that are most important, then do the work.

Stress Buster Tip. 2:  Set your limits.

Once you have identified your  priorities, the next big thing is to make sure that it’s communicated to those that need to know. At least, your mom does not have to suggest a horse-drawn carriage when she can clearly see that the budget may not afford it.

Stress Buster Tip. 3:  Organize

“It may seem like a daunting task to monitor it all, but there are some wonderful online organizers that include timetables, budget spreadsheets, and the like,” says Yifat Oren, an L.A.-based wedding and special events planner. In significant moments such as your big day, organization should be your friend.

Stress Buster Tip. 4: Trust someone to make last-minute decisions.

Have you considered hiring a wedding planner that can help you with all these meticulous stuff? “Pick someone who you trust completely and empower her to make decisions in your stead, whether it’s a problem with the caterer or rearranging seating for a guest who’s a no-show,” says Anna Post, author of Do I Have to Wear White? You should give someone the authority to decide and insulate you from snafus.

Stress Buster Tip. 5: Always smile and take good care of yourself.

Hey! One of the most beautiful moments in your life is finally happening. Smile. Practice the best smile that your wedding photographer will love. You should also give yourself some time to do regular exercise. It will let you work off the frustration and stress.
